Criminal Minds Star Paget Brewster Voices An Incredibly Important But Rarely Seen Disney Character
Paget Brewster may thrive in the gritty dark world of Criminal Minds, but she's also a proven voice actor with animated Disney credits to her name.
Disney Channel's 2017 reboot of DuckTales introduced fans to Della Duck, Donald Duck's long-missing twin sister. Portrayed by Criminal Minds star Paget Brewster, Della finally moved beyond her long-neglected obscurity within Disney lore. Brewster admitted to the daunting task of bringing such an underwritten character to life, stating, "So, it's very exciting to be able to be a part of the creation of this whole backstory and who she is."
Della's origin story was explored in detail, revealing her decade-long struggle to repair her rocket ship after a crash on the moon. Brewster found particular resonance in Della's relatability, noting that the character embodies strength while acknowledging her flaws. Della's narrative arc in DuckTales provided ample opportunity for Brewster to showcase her vocal talents amidst a lineup of impressive voices.
The 2017 reboot ran for three seasons, but Della Duck's story continued beyond the series, appearing in subsequent Disney Channel and Disney Channel Original Series animated shorts and crossovers.
