Manchester United and Arsenal legends, including Ryan Giggs, Nemanja Vidic, and Ashley Cole, have each picked their own candidate to win the 2026 Ballon d'Or. Rio Ferdinand, a former England international, posed the question to Mikael Silvestre via his X account, asking whom he thought would secure the prestigious accolade. Silvestre's answer was surprising, as he nominated Michael Olise.
Giggs, Vidic, and John O'Shea all endorsed Lamine Yamal as the deserving winner. Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha was more straightforward in his choice, selecting Kylian Mbappe, emphasizing Mbappe's French background. Dimitar Berbatov, another Manchester United legend, admitted to potential bias and opted for Harry Kane.
Arsenal's Ashley Cole and Gilberto Silva also aligned with Lamine Yamal as the top choice. The actual recipient of the Ballon d'Or will be revealed later this month in London.
