2027: Yari consults Northern emirs, seeks support for Tinubu’s re-election

The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, visited the traditional rulers of Gwandu, Katsina, Daura, and Zaria on Monday. The purpose of these visits was not to solicit political endorsements, but to seek the emirs' prayers, blessings, and wise counsel for President Bola Tinubu's re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Yari emphasized that this engagement with traditional institutions is a crucial part of the campaign's consultative strategy, highlighting the importance of moral and spiritual guidance in Nigeria's political process. The APC's statement reaffirmed their respect for traditional institutions and their role in promoting peace, unity, and stability.

The visits, which followed similar engagements with the Ooni of Ife and the Emir of Ilorin, were part of a wider tour across the country to galvanize support from traditional and political leaders. The APC's 2027 presidential campaign is scheduled to officially commence in Kaduna State on October 24.
