Villa's Manzambi shows Newcastle what they missed out on
Aston Villa are a side back in form, with Johan Manzambi scoring the winner against a Newcastle team he turned down to move to Villa Park.
Newcastle faced a setback as Johan Manzambi, their former player, scored a crucial winner for Aston Villa in a 3-0 victory. Manzambi, who joined Villa from Freiburg for a club record fee, had previously played a key role in helping Freiburg reach the Europa League final. Aston Villa's manager, Unai Emery, praised Manzambi's skills and intelligence, highlighting his physicality as vital for their defensive and offensive strategies.
Manzambi's performances, including goals against Newcastle, Tottenham, and a Champions League match, have earned him a spot on the Kopa Trophy shortlist for the best young player under 21. Despite the departure of several high-profile players from Villa, including Nicolas Jackson, who praised Manzambi's potential, the team has managed to maintain an unbeaten run in all competitions, extending to five matches.
As they continue to rebuild and rise in the Premier League, Manzambi's impact is proving to be invaluable to their present and future success.
