The Nigerian Army has pledged to bolster security measures surrounding the Federal Government College, FGC, Ohafia, and its immediate surroundings. Brigadier General Ahmad Mansur Dikko, the Commander of the 14 Brigade in Ohafia, Abia State, made this commitment during a visit to the brigade's headquarters by the school's newly appointed Principal, Mrs Akala Modupe Ayodele, and the school's management.
Brigadier General Dikko's assurance of enhanced security comes as part of the brigade's efforts to reinforce safety in the area. He advised Mrs Ayodele to maintain regular contact with Lt. Col. J.S. Wudah, the Commander of the 14 Brigade Garrison, who is responsible for overseeing security within the local government area.
During the visit, Mrs Ayodele expressed her intention to familiarize herself with the brigade and establish a positive working relationship. She also raised concerns about the damaged perimeter wall of the college.
