Is SNL New Tonight (October 17, 2026)? Host, Musical Guest, Episode Details
Saturday Night Live sparked backlash with its last episode, hosted by Shane Gillis. Will the media storm blow over by the time the show returns to the screen?
SNL faced criticism after its recent episode, but the backlash might subside by the time the show resumes. Comedian Shane Gillis hosted the show on October 10, but his controversial comments, including using a profane word during a sketch and making sexist remarks about gym shorts culture, sparked outrage. Gillis had previously been fired from SNL for offensive remarks.
NBC and SNL have not commented on the backlash. The show is on break this week, with no episode tonight or next week. It returns on October 31, Halloween night, leaving a two-week gap without SNL. Inde Navarette, known for her roles in "Obsession" and "Superman and Lois," will host the upcoming episode. Navarette, who recently starred in the MCU's upcoming "X-Men" film, will be joined by pop star Gracie Abrams, who performed on SNL previously.
The show will air at 11:30 p.m. ET, 10:30 p.m. CT, or 8:30 p.m. PT. Viewers can watch live on NBC or stream it live on Peacock. Full episodes are available on Peacock after Sunday upload, while clips are on YouTube.
