On October 17, the Illinois vs. Cincinnati exhibition basketball game will take place at the Fifth Third Arena in Cincinnati. Illinois starter David Mirkovic is unable to play due to a foot injury, and Jake Davis is a game-time decision after injuring his ankle during practice. Cincinnati bears Elijah Perryman, Trevian Carson and Tyler Tejada are expected to start for the defense-minded team.
Cincinnati won the last matchup against Illinois in 2021, with Deron Williams leading the way in both games. Illinois coach Brad Underwood aims to treat this exhibition game like an NBA preseason match, getting everyone some playing time and testing their reaction to a tough road opponent.
