WACOT Limited has renewed its agreement with the Edo State Government to enhance fertiliser production in Nigeria, particularly in the Auchi region. This partnership, which began in 2017, strengthens the capacity of the Edo State Fertiliser and Chemical Company Limited to produce specialised fertiliser blends tailored to the region's soil needs.
The President of the Fertiliser Producers and Suppliers Association of Nigeria, Mr Sadiq Kassim, highlighted the Auchi facility's strategic importance to Nigeria's agricultural sector, especially in the North-East where security concerns have hindered the establishment of similar facilities. WACOT Limited's Managing Director, Mr Naveen Chaurasia, affirmed the company's commitment to agricultural development in Edo State and nationwide.
The agreement aims to bolster food security, provide affordable fertilisers to smallholder farmers, and create employment opportunities. Edo State's Commissioner for Business, Trade and Investment, Mr Omoh Anabor, emphasized the strategic value of the partnership in promoting industrial development and attracting private investment to the state.
