My Dubai Salary: 'I earn up to Dh45,000 a month coaching wellness to women in midlife’

Monika Singh, a woman from India, moved to Dubai 12 years ago with a dentistry degree. Initially, she planned to sit her Dubai Health Authority licensing exams to practice dentistry in the UAE. However, her journey took a different turn when she started attending group workout classes and discovered her passion for dance fitness.

Today, Monika runs Monika Sphere, a women's wellness coaching business that specializes in women in midlife. This niche emerged from her personal experience with perimenopause after giving birth to her son, now seven years old.

Monika now works exclusively within Arabian Ranches 1 and 2, coaching 23 clients and earning between Dh42,000 and Dh45,000 per month. She believes that women's wellness coaching involves more than just strength training; it encompasses mobility, recovery, sleep, meditation, and breathwork. Her holistic approach caters to the unique needs of women in midlife, who often face challenges such as reduced energy, sleep disturbances, and changes in responsibilities.

Monika's financial situation includes saving and investing a portion of her earnings, though she has not yet ventured into significant investments. She manages her finances based on her upbringing in India, where she learned the importance of managing daily expenses from a young age. Her immediate financial goal is to launch an online portal, which requires a significant investment.

In the long term, Monika aims to purchase a larger house in Dubai once her online portal becomes successful and generates sufficient income. Ultimately, she aspires to become a well-known and successful businesswoman in the UAE.
