Illinois favorites, Ohio State once again picked 8th in SB Nation preseason Big Ten poll
The Illini are the heavy favorites this season, while the middle of the league is truly anyone’s guess.
In the SB Nation preseason Big Ten poll for the upcoming 2025-2026 season, Illinois Fighting Illini were voted as favorites to win the conference, despite finishing tied for second last year. Ohio State Buckeyes, on the other hand, were picked to finish eighth in the league, which is the same position they were projected to finish in last year's poll.
Both teams will be without key players, with Illinois losing Bruce Thornton to the NBA and Ohio State losing Bruce Thornton to the NBA and head coach Bruce Thornton to the NBA.
