Delta CP orders probe into fatal shooting, attacks on community leaders

Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Samuel Erale, has ordered a thorough investigation into the fatal shooting of a young man known as Don Cross and the subsequent attacks on community leaders in Okpara Inland, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State. The incident, which occurred on October 12, reportedly triggered violence and destruction of property.

Preliminary investigations suggest that some individuals from an unidentified security outfit conducted a drug raid, during which the victim was shot and later died. Miscreants then exploited the incident to unleash violence on community leaders and destroy property, including setting vehicles ablaze and damaging residences of the community's leaders.

Erale has directed police operatives and military personnel to restore law and order, condemned the violence, and urged those involved to present themselves for investigation.
