Tinubu orders security chiefs to rescue abductees, clear bandit camps

President Bola Tinubu has instructed security chiefs to rescue all abducted individuals and eliminate bandit camps throughout Nigeria, according to the Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Musa (retd.). Speaking after a security meeting at the Presidential Villa, Musa emphasized that the President wants a free, fair and credible election, assuring political parties that security forces will remain neutral.

The meeting aimed to address the security situation before the January 2027 elections, with all heads of security agencies present. Tinubu also commissioned 10 new aircraft and helicopters to boost security forces' capacity. The minister rejected claims of underage recruitment, stating that terrorists, not the Nigerian military, use underage individuals.

Musa urged Nigerians to support security agencies and reported any misconduct, emphasizing that security is a collective responsibility.
