Mumbai: State Public Works Minister Shivendrasinhraje Bhosale recently directed officials and contractors to ensure the timely and high-quality completion of three significant infrastructure projects in Mumbai, as well as recent road development efforts in the Umarkhed-Mahagaon constituency. Bhosale inspected the progress of the Air India building renovation, the new administrative block near Mantralaya, and the Manora MLA Hostel reconstruction.
At the Air India building site, Bhosale emphasized the importance of meeting strict quality standards and adhering to the planned deadlines. He directed officials to expedite remaining administrative procedures, maintain close coordination between agencies, and ensure civil and electrical works met the required standards. The renovation project has gained momentum, with the removal of the old Air India logo and the involvement of the Sir J.J. Directorate of Art in designing a new logo.
For the new administrative building near Garden Gate in Mantralaya, Bhosale reviewed the construction progress and instructed officials to accelerate the remaining work. The major structural work is advanced, with external cladding and spider glazing on track, while flooring, partitioning, and interior installations are ongoing. The minister stressed the need for increased manpower, machinery, and improved coordination to prevent delays and maintain safety and construction quality.
In the Manora MLA Hostel reconstruction project, Bhosale inspected the newly built flats and reviewed the overall quality of the ongoing works. The project aims to create modern, environmentally-friendly buildings composed of two towers, with provisions for green building certification. Tower A's foundation work is complete, while significant progress has been made on Tower B. Interior construction, flooring, plumbing, electrical installations, air-conditioning, and fire-safety systems are progressing in both towers.
Bhosale instructed officials to maintain high construction standards, ensure conformity with specifications, and conduct regular monitoring of the remaining work.
In a separate meeting, Bhosale reviewed road improvement and widening projects in the Umarkhed-Mahagaon constituency. This included the Umarkhed-Dhanki-Karli State Highway and the Vidul-Chalgani-Sakhara-Kharus-Devsari road up to the district boundary. The review discussed upgrading and widening roads, constructing cement concrete stretches, permanent drains, bus stops, and bus bays, as well as rebuilding major and minor bridges and culverts.
Bhosale directed officials to plan additional works under HAM-3 to accommodate increasing traffic, road safety requirements, and future development needs, with an emphasis on enhancing rural connectivity and road safety.
