The 273rd Session of the Conference of Rulers, held over two days at Istana Negara, concluded under the patronage of Sultan Perak Sultan Nazrin Shah. Among the key topics discussed were proposals for constitutional amendments concerning the term limits for the Prime Minister, as well as the separation of the roles of the Attorney General and the Public Prosecutor.

These discussions took place at the opening session held by Sultan Perak Sultan Nazrin Shah, while Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim arrived on the second day accompanied by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. According to a statement issued by the Office of the Secretary-General of Rulers today, the session reviewed the Draft Legislation (Constitutional Amendment) 2026 on Prime Minister Term Limits, in addition to deliberations on the Draft Communication (Constitutional Amendment) (No 2) 2026 regarding the separation of the Attorney General and Public Prosecutor roles, and proposals for amendments to Section 97 of the Children's Act 2001.

The session also announced the latest national security briefing by Inspector-General of Police Khalid Ismail, a military defense briefing by Supreme Commander Malek Razak Sulaiman, and a financial economy briefing by Finance Minister Akmal Nasrullah Nasir. Other items on the agenda included the appointment of Special High Court judges and a chairperson for the Malay Rulers' Institution at Universiti Teknologi Mara, proposed meeting dates for 2027, and matters concerning Islamic religious administration under the Malaysian National Committee for Religious Harmony, including expanding the scope of zakat collection.

The conference was attended by all monarchs, including Rulers of Terengganu Tengku Muhammad Ismail Al-Wathiqu Billah Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, Kelantan's Tunku Mahkota Tengku Muhammad Fakhry Petra (representing Sultan of Kelantan), and Johor's Tunku Temenggong Idris Iskandar Al-Haj Sultan Ibrahim (representing the Acting Sultan of Johor).
