Martinez apologises for outburst at Man Utd hierarchy

Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez expressed regret on Thursday for publicly criticizing the club's board for insufficient investment in the transfer market following their 2-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday. The Premier League champions, who also suffered their worst start to a season in 40 years, are now facing mounting pressure on their under-fire manager, Michael Carrick.

During a social media post earlier on Thursday, Martinez stated he had spoken out of anger and frustration over their lackluster performance, but he later met with club officials to discuss the matter. However, Martinez acknowledged his passionate nature and the intensity with which he approaches football. He emphasized the need for the team to maintain ambition, grow stronger, and compete at the highest level.

Martinez concluded by expressing his belief in his teammates, manager, and the entire club's efforts to move forward.
