FULL LIST: 74 UK worship centres, heritage sites to get £41m restoration fund

The UK government has announced a restoration fund of more than £41 million to support 74 historic buildings across England, including churches, synagogues, town halls, and castles. The Places of Worship Renewal Fund will allocate £18 million to 51 places of worship, while the Heritage at Risk Capital Fund will provide nearly £13 million to 20 projects.

Three additional national heritage sites, Dover Castle, Brodsworth Hall, and Osborne on the Isle of Wight, will receive £10 million in support. Heritage Minister Baroness Twycross emphasized the importance of preserving these historic buildings, stating that they are integral to the stories of their communities. The funding aims to prioritize areas facing significant repair needs and where fundraising efforts are challenging. The schemes prioritize areas where government funding can have the greatest impact.
