'The Scarecrow' quest walkthrough in Valor Mortis

The Scarecrow's side quest in Valor Mortis involves seeking out two items belonging to a scarecrow, who is actually a dead soldier tied to a cross. This task is well worth the effort, as the generous rewards make it worthwhile. To begin, after defeating General Lothaire and passing through the Abandoned Church, explore the Fallen Village.

Take the path to the right behind the Fields Lantern and you'll find the scarecrow on your right side. Upon investigating the scarecrow, you'll uncover its missing necklace and torn pocket.

The first item needed for this quest is the Lover's Pendant, found at the foot of a tree by the scarecrow's body. The second item, however, proves more challenging to locate. Follow the main path through Fallen Village until you've looped back to the Fields Lantern. Shoot the glowing orb, then look for a creepy house on the hill. Inside this house, with the locked door, you'll find the Letter With a Drawing, the scarecrow's second missing item.

To gain access to the back door of the creepy house, defeat the elite Risen Grenadier and follow the road behind him. Once in the field with the haystacks, choose the left path instead of the main road to find the back door of the creepy house. Inside, on the desk near the bed, collect the Letter With a Drawing.

Remember to collect three hand grenades during your quest. After obtaining both items, return to the scarecrow and place the two lost items on his corpse. Although William believes the scarecrow is at peace, the quest isn't yet complete. If you glance at the sky, you'll notice a murder of crows flying away from the scarecrow towards the field behind the creepy house.

Follow these crows through the house, into the field, and locate a building on the right side. Climb the scaffolding to reach the upper floor, then watch the woman's memory to complete The Scarecrow side quest.

Upon completing The Scarecrow, you'll receive 6,500 catalysts and the Bountiful Harvest amber. Before leaving, open the treasure chest on the first floor to obtain the Volatile End amber.
