US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is set to travel to India from October 17 to 22, as part of an effort to strengthen energy cooperation between the two countries. The multi-nation diplomatic tour will also take Rubio to Uzbekistan, where he will attend the C5+1 Ministerial meeting in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. Rubio's second visit to India since May, when he participated in the Quad Foreign Ministers’ meeting, aims to expand strategic ties and promote opportunities for commercial investment and economic cooperation.
A key aspect of his visit is a trip to Jamnagar, home to Reliance's world's largest single-site refinery with a capacity to process 1.4 million barrels of crude oil per day.
