Apple HomePod mini 2 Now Official In Malaysia With S10 Chip And Sound Glow

Apple's recent HomeView event showcased several new products, with the launch of the HomePod mini 2 being a highlight. The new smart speaker closely resembles its predecessor from 2020 but incorporates the company's S10 chip and several innovative features for enhanced performance and aesthetics. The HomePod mini 2 is available in five colors: Pink, Green, Blue, White, and Midnight.

Delivering "room-filling audio," the speaker can operate as a single unit, in stereo pairs, or as part of a four-speaker surround sound system when paired with an Apple TV 4K. As a smart home assistant, the HomePod mini 2 lets users control compatible smart home accessories through voice commands, such as locking doors, adjusting thermostats, and managing lighting.

The device introduces "Sound Glow," a unique feature that adds lighting effects to the top of the speaker, responding to music in real-time. This feature also adapts to album artwork in the Now Playing feature, creating a dynamic color scheme for each song. Alternatively, users can select soundscapes, like rain, for a more soothing ambiance.

In addition to audio playback, the HomePod mini 2 serves as a smart home hub, allowing users to control various devices with voice commands. Users can also manage their connected devices securely via the Home app on their iPhones, even when away from home. The speaker supports Sound Recognition, detecting smoke or carbon monoxide alarms and alerting users through their iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch.
