Andrey Santos plays a pivotal role in Manchester United's recent struggles, securing a significant victory against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League. Despite United's 0-2 loss, Santos' performance was a bright spot. He earned a start due to Kobbie Mainoo's injury, playing the full 90 minutes alongside Carlos Baleba. Santos demonstrated strong defensive skills and control of the ball, with a remarkable 100% success rate in aerial battles.
He also managed to win six out of seven ground duels, showcasing his defensive prowess. Despite not making any key passes or crosses, Santos' efforts were crucial in helping the team secure the win. The Brazilian midfielder's consistent performance throughout the season could potentially be the catalyst United needs to turn their fortunes around.
