Vienna-based reebuild has secured €3 million in funding to develop an AI operating system tailored for construction and real estate industries. The Seed round, led by Ghent-based Fortino Ventures, also saw participation from Rise PropTech, CuriosityVC, and the Hansmann Family Office.
Alexander Kornell, reebuild's CEO and founder, emphasized the company's commitment to addressing the industry's long-standing issues. "We know the problems of this industry firsthand, and we build reebuild together with our customers, extremely close to the day-to-day reality on site," he stated.
Rebuild's AI-native platform automates various tasks, such as invoice review, cost management, and material tracking. By reading and converting every document, whether a PDF, photo, scan, or e-invoice, into structured data, the software progressively learns from commercial managers' decisions, reducing repetitive administrative workload.
The platform has already processed over €530 million in invoice volume across more than 8,200 construction sites and projects, involving more than 120 construction companies and property developers. It has also reduced invoice handling time from over 20 minutes to approximately three minutes, resulting in a potential 20% reduction in procurement costs.
With the new funding, reebuild plans to expand its geographic reach, develop AI-native modules for contractor workflow automation, and grow its team at its Vienna headquarters, currently employing around 25 people. The company aims to become the agentic back office for the construction industry, where AI agents independently handle routine tasks from calculation to accounting.
