Taye Currency: Rolex Dee finally released after months in detention [VIDEO]

Singer Rolex Dee has been released from detention after more than three months behind bars. The musician was granted bail and freed nearly two months later. MC Bokujaka, who has been spearheading the 'free Rolex Dee' campaign on social media, confirmed his release in a series of videos on Tuesday. In one such video, the detained artist can be seen lying on a bed in a hotel room, pleading with MC Bokujaka not to record him.

MC Bokujaka shared the news on Instagram, stating, "ROLEX DEE has been released! Finally, the news many Nigerians have been waiting for! This is a moment of relief for his family, friends, supporters, and everyone who has been calling for his release." The musician's arrest came in April 2026 for allegedly defaming Fuji musician Taye Currency during an interview on the Agbaletu program.

He was briefly released but rearrested in early July when police officers in Oyo State lured him from Lagos with a supposed reconciliation meeting.
