Standard Chartered Bank delivers strong returns and sustainable shareholder value

Standard Chartered Bank Ghana PLC hosted its 2026 Facts Behind the Figures stakeholder engagement session at the Ghana Stock Exchange, engaging with investors, brokers, fund managers, regulators, and the media. The bank reported a strong year in 2025, achieving a return on equity of 28 percent and increasing earnings per share to GH¢5.97 from GH¢5.31 in 2024.

The bank declared a total dividend payout of GH¢673.48 million at the 2025 Annual General Meeting. The bank's balance sheet expanded by 15 percent in 2025, meeting all regulatory and capital requirements. In the first half of 2026, total revenue reached GH¢798 million, with profit after tax increasing by 10 percent to GH¢320 million.

Standard Chartered Bank Ghana PLC's Chief Executive, Xorse Godzi, highlighted the bank's focus on growth and delivering sustainable value for shareholders, leveraging the bank's international network and cross-border capabilities. Chief Financial Officer, Albert Larweh Asante, emphasized the bank's resilient performance, driven by a strong balance sheet and disciplined risk management.

The bank also reported progress in its sustainability and social impact initiatives, investing GH¢4.6 million in youth empowerment and mobilizing $30.5 million in climate finance for Ghana. Standard Chartered Bank has been operating in Ghana for 130 years, supporting socio-economic development through capital investments and trade and investment facilitation.
