ShowWindow: a card-show visit that fits your actual afternoon

This is a submission for the Hacktoberfest Open-Source AI Challenge Week 2: Side Hustle . What I Built ShowWindow helps a collector choose a Las Vegas card-show visit around the hours, people and admission budget they actually have. Finding an event is only part of that decision. Can you enter at 10am on a general-admission ticket, or is that VIP time? Does your 10-year-old need a ticket? Is an…

This is an account of the ShowWindow project, a tool for organizing a Las Vegas card-show visit. The app assists a collector in selecting a show based on their schedule, party size, ticket budget, and interests. It takes a date range, available time window, number of adults and children, their ages, desired collecting goals, and admission budget as input.

The planner then compares the available sessions, explains the usable time and cost, and downloads a customized plan once the important details are set. The current version is limited to 11 reviewed listings and 33 supported sessions for visits between October 13 and December 31, 2026. The app is free and has no checkout or confirmed first user.

It uses the Qwen3.5-4B model through Ollama for data preparation and processing. The organizer pages are queried for structured per-day sessions, ticket tiers, child cutoffs, venue, and address. The model checks the schema, calendar dates, time order, integer-cent prices, and evidence references. The compiled data includes the party, session, cost, address, parking note, and source links.

The calendar uses Las Vegas local time. The app is written in React and TypeScript, with deterministic calculation and export code. The source data is published under the MIT license. The project can be found on GitHub at code agammann/showwindow-vegas.
