Serie A bottom club Venezia sack coach Stroppa

On Tuesday, Italian Serie A club Venezia dismissed head coach Giovanni Stroppa, according to the club's announcement. The team currently finds itself at the bottom of the standings with zero points, having lost six consecutive matches. Stroppa, a former AC Milan midfielder and Italy national, assumed the role of Venezia's coach in June 2022 and led the club to promotion back to Serie A after a one-season absence.

The club expressed gratitude towards Stroppa and his staff for their efforts, professionalism, dedication, and commitment during their tenure at Venezia. The club mentioned Paolo Zanetti and Davide Nicola as potential candidates to replace Stroppa, with sources from Italian media reporting the information. Venezia is scheduled to face eighth-placed Napoli in their next match on Saturday.
