SECOND CHANCE: Former Springbok coach Jake White will lead ‘best-prepared’ Fiji to RWC 2027

Former World Cup-winning Springbok coach Jake White has been appointed as head coach of Fiji, with ambitions to push them beyond the quarterfinals at the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia. White's contract runs until the end of the RWC 2027 tournament, with an option to renew for another year. Fiji reached the last eight in France in 2007 and the quarterfinals in 2023, including a historic Pool stage win over Australia.

While many may doubt Fiji's chances of making the final, White is confident in the great athletes he will work with from a nation that loves rugby more than religion. He will begin his preparations in Nadi, Fiji, with his first Test against Japan on October 24.
