Saudi Arabia issues emergency alerts in Riyadh and Eastern Province

Saudi Arabia's Civil Defence issued urgent emergency alerts for Riyadh and the Eastern Province, cautioning residents about potential dangers. The National Early Warning Platform for Emergencies disseminated the warnings, urging citizens to heed the instructions of Civil Defence and other official authorities while taking necessary precautions until the alert was withdrawn.

The Civil Defence subsequently announced that the threat had subsided in both regions, yet continued to advise residents to adhere to safety guidelines and refrain from capturing or disseminating footage in the impacted areas.

The Saudi Ministry of Interior cautioned residents against filming or publishing content related to missile and drone interception operations or the locations where these interceptions occurred. This directive was motivated by national security concerns, as the ministry emphasized that sharing such footage on social media or other platforms could jeopardize the Kingdom's national security apparatus.

Any individual found filming, broadcasting, or distributing information pertaining to missile and drone interceptions or impact locations faced the risk of legal repercussions. Civil Defence made it clear that such actions would result in accountability.

In addition to the safety warnings, the Civil Defence emphasized that anyone encountering an emergency should promptly dial the unified emergency number, 911, for immediate assistance. The Saudi Ministry of Interior reiterated the importance of adhering to the directive and refrained from recording or sharing any material related to missile and drone interceptions or the locations where these events transpired.
