Like GTA 6, God of War Laufey's 'Collector's Box' doesn't come with a copy of the game, and fans are outraged — 'I see Rockstar is an inspiration for everyone'

The God of War Laufey - Collector's Box has been revealed for £130 / $149.99, but it doesn't include the game itself. This move has sparked outrage among fans, who compare it to the recent Grand Theft Auto 6 collector's edition that also omits the game. The box includes a light-up Faye statue, a 51-card Oracle Deck, and a mini art book, with the actual game being sold separately.

Fans are frustrated with the exclusion of the game, calling it "greedy" and an "overpriced cash grab." While some companies, like Blizzard, are still including digital download codes in their collector's editions, others, like Santa Monica Studio and Rockstar Games, are following a trend of selling games separately. The lack of physical games in these editions has been a point of contention, especially with Sony's plans to stop producing game discs by January 2028.
