Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has stated that Arsenal's Declan Rice is the premier midfielder in the English top flight. Carragher made this assertion while discussing Manchester City's Elliot Anderson's performance against Liverpool. Carragher questioned whether City would have been better off retaining Anderson, given the low price they received for him.
According to Carragher, Anderson was sold for a relatively small sum, and now, both Anderson and Rice are considered among the best midfielders in the country. The Liverpool legend firmly placed Rice at the top of his list, specifically highlighting his crucial role in Arsenal's Premier League title victory last season.
