OxygenOS, the Android skin used on OnePlus smartphones, is set to retire as OnePlus exits the global market, transitioning to Oppo's ColorOS. This change will bring Android 17 to a range of devices starting later this month. OnePlus officially confirmed that OxygenOS support will cease, with ColorOS taking over starting with Android 17.
The 24 devices that will receive Android 17 updates include the OnePlus 15, OnePlus Pad 4, OnePlus 15R, OnePlus 13 series, OnePlus Open, and OnePlus 12, among others. Devices like the OnePlus 16 will launch with this update pre-installed in China. This transition is expected to continue through Q1 of 2027, with no significant differences between OxygenOS and ColorOS noticeable given Oppo's longstanding influence on OnePlus' software experience.
