HEC Partners With Foreign Ministry for Digital Degree Verification

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have collaborated to develop a secure digital verification system for academic credentials. This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aims to create a seamless connection between the attestation systems of both organizations. Through a secure and API-based integration, HEC-attested credentials can be directly and securely verified.

The signing of the MoU was attended by Prof Dr Zia Ul Haq, Executive Director of HEC, and Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, Foreign Secretary. The ceremony was also witnessed by Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, and Prof Dr Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, Chairman of HEC. Along with the main signatories, senior representatives from both entities participated in the event.

The agreement incorporates stringent measures to safeguard data sharing, confidentiality, cyber security, and the protection of personally identifiable information. This digital verification system promises to be a boon for students and professionals by providing efficient, transparent, and tamper-proof degree verification. By minimizing manual processes, the initiative aims to augment the credibility of Pakistani academic qualifications internationally.
