A mattress factory in Sokoban-Ampayoo, located in Ghana's Ashanti Region, was engulfed in flames on Saturday morning, resulting in extensive damage. The fire quickly spread, causing panic among residents and prompting frantic efforts to protect parked vehicles near a commercial garage. The origin of the blaze remains unknown, with the investigation still ongoing.
Eyewitnesses reported that the fire had already ravaged a significant portion of the factory before the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded. Prior to the arrival of the fire tenders, residents had attempted to curb the flames and prevent them from spreading to neighboring properties. The immediate aftermath revealed the devastating impact of the conflagration, but the full extent of the damage and any casualties are yet to be confirmed.
