Ayer Keroh kekal milik DAP, tiada pertukaran kerusi PH, kata Azman

Former PKR Wilayah Persekutuan deputy chief Azman Abidin has stated that the official announcement of the PRN Melaka constituency division for Pakatan Harapan (PH) will be made by the top leadership of the party. (Bernama photo) PETALING JAYA: Azman, a senior party official, said that the agreement was reached during discussions with PH Melaka leadership, denying PKR's claim of seizing a DAP seat.

"Reports from the media that mistakenly quoted PKR as winning in Ayer Keroh may be due to a misunderstanding. The statement about the Ayer Keroh DUN referring to a PH component winner, rather than a PKR-specific winner," he told FMT. Azman, who is also the PKR Wilayah Persekutuan chief, said his party is expected to win between seven to eight seats, including Paya Rumput, Rembia, Machap, Lendu, and Klebang.

However, he stressed that the official constituency division announcement will be made by the top PH leadership. He also emphasized the harmonious relationship between the PH component parties and the fact that all parties would move as a team to face the PRN Melaka challenges. Earlier, DAP Melaka leader Kerk Chee Yee questioned a PKR leader's demand for the party to contest in Ayer Keroh, which is considered a strong DAP stronghold.

Kerk, who has been the Ayer Keroh ADUN since 2018 until the DUN was dissolved last month, said constituency division discussions for PH Melaka have already concluded. This followed a media report quoting Azman saying PKR is targeting eight seats in the PRN Melaka, including Ayer Keroh.
