Apple HomeView and Apple TV 4K: What to know about smart hub and updated console

Apple has introduced two new products to enhance the smart home experience: HomeView and Apple TV 4K.

HomeView is a smart hub designed to incorporate artificial intelligence-driven Siri and an easy-to-use interface. A video posted to Apple's website and social media showcases a busy family using HomeView to answer questions, communicate with others, and set reminders. For instance, a woman asks HomeView, "Siri, ping me my keys," and her keys emit a beeping noise via the HomePod speaker, presumably with the help of Apple's AirTag.

HomeView will be available in English initially and priced at $299, starting from November 13. It comes in two options: a device that rests on surfaces and a version that mounts on a wall. Apple also plans to allow third-party devices to work with HomeView, partnering with companies like LG and Schneider Electric to offer a comprehensive smart home solution.

In addition to HomeView, Apple unveiled an upgraded version of its HomePod mini speaker, the HomePod mini 2. This device will be available on October 30, starting at $149. Apple claims the HomePod 2 will put Siri at the center of the home, providing powerful AI assistance to help users find what they need and accomplish tasks more efficiently. The HomePod 2 boasts improved sound, touch controls, a mesh design, and a woven power cord.

Lastly, Apple announced the updated Apple TV 4K console, set to launch alongside HomeView on November 13, also priced at $299. The new console features an A19 processor for enhanced 4K video quality, a Siri remote with improved Siri AI capabilities, and built-in microphones for voice control. Apple highlights that the device offers a cinematic experience with its enhanced features, making it easy to enjoy shows, movies, games, and workouts using voice commands.
