ALOR SETAR: Three teenage boys sustained injuries after being struck by high-voltage electric current during a corn stall performance in Mergong on Tuesday night, according to Chah Boon Chuan, secretary of the Mergong Corn Stall Association. The incident occurred around 9 pm, and two victims aged 17 and 16 were taken to Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah (HSB) for treatment.

According to Chah, the accident took place when a flag was swept away by strong winds during a rain shower before being electrocuted. The two boys who were holding the flag and a third near him also sustained injuries from electric shock. All three are currently receiving treatment in HSB's red zone. Chah stated that the bamboo flag used for the performance was the first of its kind to cause such an incident.

Earlier, videos of the incident circulated on social media, including images of the injured victims lying on the road.
