Teams see tons of bugs and report almost none. I built a fix: 100 users in 2 months
๐ I built something. It's called ๐ฝ๐ง๐๐๐ As an engineer, I work every day with cross functional teams: founders, PMs, sales, support. And I kept noticing the same thing: Why? Filing a ticket means stopping, taking screenshots, writing the steps, guessing what broke. Nobody does that in theโฆ
I have developed a solution dubbed "Brief" that addresses a prevalent issue faced by cross-functional teams, including founders, product managers, sales representatives, and support staff. Despite daily collaboration, teams consistently encounter a multitude of bugs, yet rarely report them. This is primarily due to the cumbersome process of filing a ticket, which requires users to stop their workflow, capture screenshots, detail steps, and speculate on the cause of the issue.
This inefficiency often leads to bugs being discussed in casual channels like Slack, where developers must chase down the specifics.
Recognizing this pain point, I created Brief, a Chrome extension designed to streamline bug reporting. Brief enables users to quickly capture screenshots, videos, or the last minute of a problematic action, after which an AI analyzes the issue and generates a comprehensive report. This report is seamlessly integrated into Jira or Linear, complete with steps to reproduce the bug, video evidence, and technical errors such as console and network logs.
By eliminating the need for manual data entry and communication, Brief significantly reduces the time and effort required to resolve issues.
Since its launch, Brief has been adopted by 100 users within just two months, with 12 teams actively utilizing it on a daily basis. The platform is currently free for the first 600 users. Interested teams can access Brief at https://cloud.get-brief.app. For a demonstration of its functionality, please refer to the accompanying demo link.
