Salman Khan opens Karan Johar’s final Koffee With Karan: What to expect

Bollywood star Salman Khan is set to kick off the ninth and final season of Karan Johar's beloved chat show, Koffee With Karan. The first teaser for the upcoming season offers viewers a glimpse of an unpredictable and candid conversation between Salman and the host. "This is the finale season, so this can go anywhere," Karan Johar tells Salman in the preview.

The ninth season of Koffee With Karan is scheduled to premiere on October 14, 2026, exclusively on JioHotstar. Salman Khan will appear solo in the season premiere, making his return to the Koffee couch after his debut stint in Season 4 and his participation in the show's 100th episode in Season 5 alongside his brothers, Arbaaz and Sohail Khan.

Karan Johar recently shared an emotional video reflecting on the show's journey since its inception in 2004. He recalled the initial skepticism from his late father, Yash Johar, who questioned whether anyone would pay to watch Karan chat with his friends. Despite the doubts, Karan persisted and launched the show, which has since become a staple of Indian pop culture.

Looking ahead to the final season, Karan acknowledged both the memorable moments and the controversies that defined the series. He admitted to having called both lovers and ex-lovers, some of whom later got married, and even put the careers of national icons at risk. Karan Johar's Koffee With Karan 9 marks a bittersweet farewell to the show, as he prepares to say goodbye after more than two decades on screen.
