‘Our Featured Player Right Now’: Mike McCarthy Raves About Jaylen Warren

Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike McCarthy has declared Jaylen Warren as the franchise's top running back, according to a Monday press conference. Warren's performance has been stellar in the last three games, joining an esteemed group of four players who have achieved three consecutive 125+ yard games. He has amassed an impressive 176, 126, and 188 yards from scrimmage over this period.

On Sunday, Warren made history by becoming the first player in Steelers' franchise history to score both an 80-yard receiving touchdown and a 50-yard rushing touchdown in the same game. This remarkable feat is the first of its kind since Herschel Walker accomplished it for the Dallas Cowboys in 1986.

Warren stepped up to the plate when Rico Dowdle was sidelined due to a toe injury over the last three games. In Dowdle's absence, Warren showcased his prowess with 176 total yards from scrimmage, including an eye-catching 127 rushing yards on 17 carries. His impressive performance against the Cincinnati Bengals, where he contributed 176 yards from scrimmage (including 127 rushing yards on 17 carries), further solidified his status as the team's featured player.

Despite concerns about his physicality due to his relatively small stature (5-foot-8 and 215 pounds), Warren's versatile running style, warrior mentality, and dedication to taking care of his body suggest he will remain a formidable force for the Steelers until Dowdle's return.
