Nothing’s Android 17 rollout is officially underway
The Phone 3 is the first to get the stable Nothing OS 5.0 with a long list of new features.
Nothing has begun deploying the stable Nothing OS 5.0 update to the Phone 3, marking the company's first handset to receive Android 17. This update brings a redesigned Launcher, split Quick Settings and notifications, new widgets, camera improvements, enhanced customization options, and various Android 17 features. The rollout is not uniform, as it progresses in stages across different regions and devices.
Nothing had previously outlined a detailed Android 17 timeline when they introduced Nothing OS 5.0 in August. Initially, the Phone 3 was slated to be the first device to experience an Open Beta, with a stable release expected in mid-October. The company has now kept that commitment, with the Phone 3 becoming the inaugural Nothing device to receive the stable Nothing OS 5.0 update.
The general release is underway, although the distribution is taking place incrementally, leading to varying availability depending on the region and device. To verify the update on your device, navigate to Settings > System > System update. According to screenshots shared on social media, the update size for non-beta users is 2.84GB, while beta users encounter a smaller download of approximately 1.68GB.
