Apple is set to unveil a new Apple TV 4K at its upcoming 'Welcome home' event on Tuesday, October 13. This marks the first update to the device since 2022. The new Apple TV 4K is rumored to bring five significant upgrades.
Firstly, the A19 chip is expected to provide smoother performance and a substantial improvement over the A15 chip in the previous model. Secondly, the device will introduce support for Siri AI, marking a central focus of the new Apple TV. This AI integration will not just be a software upgrade, but will also enable easier interaction with Siri via the built-in microphone in the Apple TV 4K box.
This microphone feature will allow users to interact with Siri entirely by voice, eliminating the need to press the button on the Siri Remote. Further, it will even be possible to ask Siri to locate the remote, which will emit a noise on the new Siri Remote to aid in its discovery.
The N1 wireless chip is anticipated to enhance reliability, potentially supporting features like AirDrop and integrating with other Apple Home-related improvements. While these five upgrades are the most likely, Apple could still surprise us with additional features that haven't been widely rumored. The Apple community will be eagerly awaiting the announcement and sharing their thoughts in the comments.
