Sheopur, Morena and Bhind districts in Madhya Pradesh witnessed the detention of several Congress leaders on Monday, as they prepared to participate in a protest in Delhi. The opposition party has called for a massive rally, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, amid allegations of "vote chori." The detention of these party leaders has sparked concerns and criticism from the Congress.

Madhya Pradesh Congress president Jitu Patwari blasted the state government, accusing Chief Minister Mohan Yadav's administration of attempting to prevent the party workers from joining the protest. He claimed that the government's action was a clear indication that the administration was protecting Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Patwari alleged that the detention of Congress leaders was an undemocratic move and a threat to the democratic rights of the citizens.

Similar police actions were reported in Morena and Bhind districts, where Congress leaders were also taken into custody before leaving for Delhi. Notably, Madhya Pradesh Congress president Jitu Patwari criticised Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating, "Not just Modi, Mohan is also scared of power." Patwari's accusations have raised questions about the intentions behind the police action and the government's motive for detaining the party leaders.
