Lakers Insider Suggests Shocking Jaden Hardy Trade Scenario

The Los Angeles Lakers face a difficult situation of having to cut or trade players before the start of the NBA season, as they currently have one player over the maximum allowed. Dalton Knecht is the leading candidate for a potential trade, but Jaden Hardy remains a viable option as well. An insider from the Lakers believes that Hardy might be among those traded if Dalton Knecht is moved.

Jovan Buha suggested the Washington Wizards as a potential destination for Hardy, stating that the team might be willing to take him back and consider players like Bilal Coulibaly or Justin Champagnie as replacements. The Lakers would likely need to send some Washington picks of low value to acquire better talent, as Hardy's role would be limited on a team with Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves, and other bench players.

Bronny James' inclusion in the Lakers' plans may provide him with some bench minutes, but given the competition from Reaves and Doncic, Hardy's chances of playing a significant role are slim unless there are multiple injuries. The Washington Wizards would benefit from a trade involving Hardy, as their forward position remains a significant weakness following the loss of LeBron James and Rui Hachimura in the offseason.

Coulibaly and Champagnie would likely find themselves in lesser roles with the Wizards, while the Lakers could easily replace them with a more suitable guard.
