Jon Rahm, a prominent figure in golf, is set to make his debut at the Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship, marking his return to established tours. This event, scheduled for November 5-8 at Yas Links, will be his first appearance in Abu Dhabi. Rahm, a two-time Major Champion, has previously enjoyed significant success in the UAE, including three wins at the season's finale, the DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates.
His upcoming participation comes as he prepares to exit the breakaway LIV Golf tour. The field for this event will include golfing giants like Rory McIlroy and Patrick Reed. Reed, who has signaled his intent to leave LIV Golf, hopes to regain entry into the PGA Tour via European tournaments. Rahm's exit from LIV is also underway, with the tour set to undergo restructuring following the loss of Saudi Arabian funding.
Players on LIV for the next season will be barred from the European Tour starting in 2027. Rahm has secured his spot on the DP World Tour and the upcoming Ryder Cup through a recent agreement.
