Jerebu: Johor tubuh pasukan khas, sedia SOP sebelum sekolah buka semula

Johor's state education department has announced the formation of a special task force to monitor the spread of pollution and provide standard operating procedures (SOP) before schools reopen after the recent haze crisis. The task force, approved in a meeting held this morning, will work in coordination with various agencies, including the National Security Council, to strengthen disaster management and ensure smooth communication with parents, guardians, teachers, and school authorities.

The meeting emphasized the importance of early communication regarding any decision to close or reopen schools, leaving sufficient time for families, caretakers, teachers, and school officials to prepare. Naqib Ghazali, the head of the Johor Education and Communication Council, said the meeting focused on a comprehensive approach to dealing with the pollution situation, including school operations, student safety, and assistance for parents and all teaching staff in the state.

The Johor Disaster Management Unit (JPBN) will also be established to monitor and evaluate the pollution situation daily. All official decisions and information will be clearly communicated to the public in a clear, timely, and consistent manner. The Johor government understands parents' concerns about their children's health and acknowledges the challenges faced by teachers and school officials in managing learning during the crisis.

However, the decision-making process will not solely rely on Air Pollution Index (API) readings; instead, it will consider the surrounding environment, health risks, student safety, and the preparedness of all parties involved.
