Here's where area soccer, volleyball teams start their postseason runs

The Southeast District has released its tournament seedings for both volleyball and soccer teams in the area. Here is a rundown of where each program will begin their postseason runs.

In volleyball, Division III has Chillicothe and Unioto facing off for the second consecutive season. The No. 4 seeded Cavaliers will host the No. 5 Shermans at 6 p.m. on October 20. The winner will advance to a district quarterfinal in Marietta on October 22. Chillicothe and Unioto previously met in the season opener, with Chillicothe prevailing in five sets.

Waverly, a No. 6 seed in Division IV, will host River Valley in a quarterfinal at 6 p.m. on October 21. A win would have the Tigers facing either Warren or Washington in the next round.

Division V features five area teams - Adena, Zane Trace, Westfall, Piketon and Huntington - all playing at 6 p.m. on October 21. Zane Trace, the No. 3 seed, will host Minford. Southeastern, a Division VI team, has earned a No. 3 seed and will host Rock Hill in a district quarterfinal at 6 p.m. on October 20. Division VII's Paint Valley meets Sciotoville East in a district quarterfinal at 6 p.m. on October 19.
