Georgia takes No. 1 spot in US LBM Coaches Poll ahead of matchup with Auburn
The first test for the Auburn Tigers post-bye week will be the No. 1 team in the country.
The Georgia Bulldogs have ascended to the top spot in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll, just days before their crucial matchup against Auburn. This remarkable achievement comes after a hard-fought victory over No. 7 Alabama in a road game, bolstered by support from Oklahoma, which had previously defeated Auburn in an intense Red River Rivalry.
The win against Alabama has not only propelled Georgia into the No. 1 position but also caused a ripple effect in the rankings, pushing other teams down the ladder. Texas and Alabama both slipped to No. 6 and No. 7 respectively, while LSU fell to No. 21 after suffering a loss to Kentucky. Notably, Florida and LSU, both of which had lost their last two games, also failed to make it into the top 25.
Kentucky's impressive win over LSU has helped them rebound, now sitting at No. 17. The top 5 teams Utah, Ohio State, and Notre Dame have also managed to maintain their positions in the rankings.
