Field Marshal Asim Munir meets Brazilian military chief at GHQ in Rawalpindi

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan's Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff, has affirmed the nation's dedication to fortifying defence relations with Brazil. This statement was conveyed by the military's media department on Monday. Admiral Renato Rodrigues De Aguiar Freire, Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces of Brazil, led a high-ranking Brazilian military delegation during a meeting with General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

The two parties deliberated on issues of common concern, encompassing the regional security landscape and prospects for amplifying bilateral defence and security collaboration. Both parties expressed satisfaction with the long-standing amicable relations between Pakistan and Brazil, and they agreed to further augment military-to-military collaboration.

The visiting Brazilian dignitary was greeted with a guard of honor by a tri-services contingent upon his arrival at GHQ. Admiral Freire commended the professionalism and readiness of the Pakistan Armed Forces and recognized their role in promoting regional peace and stability. This visit underscores the mutual commitment of Pakistan and Brazil to deepen defence cooperation and bolster bilateral military ties.

In a similar vein, Foreign Minister of Bahrain Dr. Abdullatif Bin Rashid Al Zayani met with Munir three days prior to discuss matters of mutual interest and enhance bilateral cooperation. Additionally, a high-ranking delegation from Belarus, led by Lieutenant General Aleksandr Volfovich, visited GHQ on October 7 to discuss evolving regional and global security issues.
