During India's third T20I against West Indies in Indore on Sunday, an emotional scene unfolded. A female spectator was seen wiping away tears after Indian captain Shreyas Iyer was dismissed for just one run. The incident, captured by television cameras, quickly spread on social media. Iyer, who had scored a century in the first T20I, couldn't replicate his form in Indore.
He faced two deliveries before Roston Chase edged him LBW in the ninth over. Although disappointed, Iyer initially considered a review before walking towards the pavilion. The emotional fan's tears were a stark contrast to India's eventual victory. Despite Iyer's early exit, the Indian team posted a challenging 223, with Abhishek Sharma's brilliant 69 and Ishan Kishan's 37 contributing significantly.
West Indies fought hard but were dismissed for 209, leaving India with a 14-run win. The result gave India a 2-1 lead in the series. While fans mourned Iyer's setback, at least they could take solace in their team's success.
