‘Don’t drag Supreme Court into politics’: Chief Justice ahead of Congress march

Chief Justice Surya Kant has declined to meet leaders of the INDIA Bloc, citing reasons for his inability to do so. The Chief Justice received a letter from the bloc on Sunday, but as he was out of the capital city, he replied to it last night. When asked about the specific reasons he could not meet the bloc leaders, Chief Justice Surya Kant refused to disclose them.

He urged the leaders to request the Supreme Court to reveal the content of the letter, emphasizing the need to maintain its confidentiality. The Chief Justice also highlighted that the Supreme Court's doors were open to all, stating that any common citizen or elected member can file a petition. He reiterated that every Indian citizen has the right to approach the court and the Court will hear their concerns and grant whatever is due under the law.
