During the Hacktoberfest Hack Day at BIT Sindri, the SYNCTHINK team developed DevMatch, a skill-based developer and project matching platform. This innovative tool aims to connect student builders from various engineering disciplines for hackathons and campus projects. The platform was built using a robust stack and architecture, with Python and FastAPI powering the asynchronous REST APIs for swift request handling.
The backend database is a serverless PostgreSQL on NeonDB, which efficiently stores user profiles, skills, and matchmaking queries.
The frontend UI of DevMatch is deployed live on a custom domain infrastructure, making it accessible at syncbuild.tech. Throughout the project, the team focused on keeping the schema lean and prioritizing developer velocity to meet the tight hackathon time constraints. Participating in Hacktoberfest 2026 for DevMatch was a rewarding experience, allowing the team to build, ship, and showcase a complete end-to-end prototype.
For those interested in exploring the project further, the GitHub repository can be found at https://github.com/balmukundpandey407/DevMatch, and a live demo can be accessed at https://syncbuild.tech.
